Egg Confirmation!

The bright sunshine of Friday morning allowed for better viewing of the nest. From 8:30 to 8:55 AM I was watching Jim, alone in the nest, busily rearranging the sticks around its edge. I was getting awfully close to deciding that I had been mistaken about the presence of an egg in the nest because the center of the nest had remained unoccupied for so long. But at 8:56 Cindy stood up in the center of the nest! She had been there the whole time! The outer wall is now high enough and solid enough to completely conceal the sitting adult from view! Cindy walked to the edge of the nest and flew off. Within 60 seconds, Jim had stopped his construction work, walked to the center of the nest and clearly rolled an egg. He then knuckled-walk over the egg(s) and settled down, disappearing below the nest rim! That “changing of the guard” confirms that there are eggs in the nest!
