As winter approaches, Jim and Cindy are still adding to their already impressive nest.

And they are still chasing off the other Bald Eagles that are passing through their neighborhood. When they aren’t busy doing that they are sitting side by side watching the world go by. Our weather has been anything but December-like and the warm temperatures have added to the winter preparations for everyone in the wellfield. The coyotes and deer are well fed and ready for winter and the Canada Geese and Mute Swans in their territory provide Jim and Cindy with a lot of world to watch. The Whitetail Deer are even playing Reindeer games and practicing for Santa’s team just in case he needs a last-minute replacement or two.

The nice weather has made eagle watching much more enjoyable too. Normal December weather means icy toes, nippy noses and numb shutter fingers. I don’t miss any of those things.

  1. Glad all is well with the eagles!! In the first picture it looks as if Cindys wing feathers are a little tattered. Is that the case? Maybe Jim and Cindy will add a little holiday decorations to the nest, lights and tinsel!! Thanks Eaglejim. Polly.
